A group of parents using their collective experience in raising gifted children can accomplish much more than parents working alone. Whether united in advocacy or simply for mutual support, forming a TAGT Parent Group will help to ensure that your children's unique needs are being met in their homes, classrooms, and communities.
Parent Group Membership Benefits:
- A subscription to Tempo, TAGT’s quarterly magazine, which features in-depth articles on important topics in the field of gifted education.
- A subscription to the TAGT Newsletter, an online publication of association news and information on conferences, legislative activities, and upcoming events.
- A copy of Insights, TAGT’s annual directory of scholarships, grants, and awards for students, parents, and educators; it also includes a list of summer programs for gifted and talented students.
- A complimentary presentation by a TAGT Executive Board member at one parent group meeting during the first year of the group’s affiliation.
- A Certificate of Parent Group Membership, mailed to contact person for the local organization.
- For every 15 members of the parent support group who also join TAGT, the group will receive one Full Conference Registration for the TAGT Annual Professional Development Conference for Educators and Parents (up to a $310 value)
- One free registration to the TAGT Parent Conference (a $49 value) for submitting an electronic spreadsheet with contact information of your membership
Parent Group Membership Requirements:
- Anyone may form a parent group. The group may choose to involve one or more schools or school districts.
- A written application with payment of $59 for the annual Parent Group Membership must be submitted to TAGT. The group’s bylaws and a list of the group’s leadership, along with contact information for individual members, if permissible, should be submitted electronically to TAGT following receipt of the application.
