TAGT Book Studies give you the opportunity to explore timely topics in gifted education alongside authors and fellow educators. Each virtual study goes beyond the book to help you connect ideas to your classroom, campus, or program through guided learning, discussion, and practical application.
Book Studies feature topics relevant to the educators serving gifted learners and provide a flexible way to deepen your knowledge, consider new perspectives, and bring useful strategies back to your work. Past studies have addressed areas including differentiation, advanced programs, equity, multilingual learners, and neurodiversity.

Giftedness and neurodivergence can intersect in ways that make students’ strengths easier to overlook and their needs more difficult to understand. For twice-exceptional learners, ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and other neurological differences may coexist with significant abilities—and the effort required to mask, adapt, or navigate environments that do not meet their needs can lead to disengagement and burnout.
This fall, explore practical, strengths-based approaches for creating learning environments where neurodivergent students feel accepted, understood, and supported. Author Emily Kircher-Morris will guide participants through Neurodiversity-Affirming Schools: Transforming Practices So All Students Feel Accepted & Supported, with a focus on helping you better interpret student behavior, support emotional regulation, develop more effective IEPs and 504 Plans, and respond to each learner’s individual strengths and needs.
Emily Kircher-Morris, M.A., M.Ed., LPC, is an educator, licensed professional counselor, author, and host of The Neurodiversity Podcast. Drawing from both her professional expertise and her own experiences as a neurodivergent person, she focuses on destigmatizing neurodiversity and supporting neurodivergent children and adults.

Educator, Leader, and Collaborator members can register at no charge, but must still complete the registration form. Nonmembers can pay via credit card or request an invoice to pay via purchase order or check. Nonmembers can also join TAGT as they complete the registration form.
