Committees & Volunteers

TAGT is powered by its members. By volunteering to serve on a TAGT committee, you have the opportunity to contribute to the G/T community, develop leadership skills, and benefit more from your TAGT membership.

There are three categories of committees, all to assist the board in carrying out the association’s strategic vision.

  • Governance committees deal primarily with governance issues and are designed to ensure TAGT follows policy and procedure.
  • Organizational committees ensure the TAGT mission moves forward and help directly service the membership.
  • Resource committees are focused on creating content, research, and resources for each special interest/audience.

Eligibility

  • You must be a current TAGT member (and maintain membership while serving).
  • The Leadership Development Committee (LDC) reviews applications using an assessment tool that considers experience, background, and diversity across rural, urban, suburban, and ethnic representation.

Terms of Service

  • Committee Members: Serve staggered one-year terms, with the option to serve on the same committee for up to three consecutive terms.
  • LDC Members: Serve one-year terms with the option of serving a second term.

Timeline

  • Open committee positions are slated in late spring.
  • Notifications of placement are sent in May.
  • Committee service runs July-June.
