Lone Star Leadership Academy offers weeklong overnight camps for high-achieving 3rd-8th graders in Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin/San Antonio, and Houston/Galveston. Campers develop leadership skills, visit historically significant Texas sites, and meet professionals to learn about unique careers. All facilitators are Texas educators, with one for every ten students. Many parents of gifted students seek academic rigor and social connections with like-minded peers. This camp fosters both by engaging students in hands-on learning, leadership development, and team building with other high-achieving students.  Eligibility requirements include receiving an educator recommendation, maintaining an 85 or higher overall average, and involvement in school and/or community involvement. Camps take place in all three locations each week throughout the summer. Round-trip charter bus transportation from D/FW to Austin and Houston camps is available.
