The TAGT Board of Directors is pleased to share an important update and announce the next chapter of leadership for the Texas Association for the Gifted & Talented.
Effective July 1, 2026, Kristin Graham will be named Executive Director of TAGT following a thoughtfully planned leadership transition.
As a former teacher and G/T leader in urban, suburban, and rural communities across Texas, Kristin understands firsthand the opportunities and challenges facing educators who serve gifted learners.
Joining the TAGT staff in 2022, and serving as TAGT’s Deputy Director, she has worked closely with members, volunteers, partners, and the Board to advance the association’s strategic priorities, strengthen member engagement, and support the delivery of TAGT’s programs and services. Her leadership has been recognized by both the Texas Society of Association Executives and the American Society of Association Executives, reflecting her commitment to strengthening the organizations and communities she serves.
The Board is confident that Kristin’s unique combination of educational expertise, leadership experience, and passion for TAGT’s mission will serve the organization well as it continues to grow and evolve in service to its members and the students they support.
“TAGT is entering this next chapter from a position of strength,” said Luke Hurst, Ph.D., TAGT President. “Kristin understands our mission, our members, and the importance of advocating for gifted learners across Texas. Her experience as an educator, district leader, and member of this community gives her a unique perspective, and we are excited about the future under her leadership. We look forward to building on TAGT’s strong foundation while continuing to innovate and expand our impact.”
“When I was a department of one in rural East Texas, TAGT was initially where I sought professional learning, and along the way I found friendships, mentorship, and the support that helped me do my job better every day,” Kristin said. “The greatest strength of this organization has always been its community of educators who learn from one another and lift one another up. I am honored to step into this role and look forward to continue serving the members and mission that have given so much to me throughout my career.”
This transition ensures continuity in TAGT’s programs, services, strategic priorities, and member support. The TAGT Board and staff remain fully committed to advancing the organization’s mission and delivering the high-quality resources, advocacy, and professional learning opportunities our members value.
As we look ahead, we also want to recognize and celebrate the leadership of Paulina van Eeden Hill, CAE, who will conclude her service as Executive Director on June 30, 2026.
During her decade of service to TAGT, Paulina has provided thoughtful leadership, strengthened the organization, and championed the needs of gifted students, educators, and families throughout Texas. Her dedication and vision have helped position TAGT for continued success, and the Board is deeply grateful for her many contributions.
Please join us in thanking Paulina for her exceptional service and welcoming Kristin as she begins this new role.
Together, we look forward to an exciting future as we continue advancing excellence in gifted education across Texas.
