The TAGT Leadership Conference brings together administrators, G/T coordinators, specialists, and other gifted education leaders to explore strong programs, practical strategies, and emerging ideas from across Texas. Approximately 200-plus leaders attend each year to learn from peers, strengthen their practice, and examine the issues shaping gifted education.
TAGT is now accepting proposals for the 2027 Leadership Conference program. Engaging, informative sessions are encouraged, particularly those that share best practices, advanced ideas, practical solutions, leadership development strategies, and deeper exploration of topics relevant to gifted education. Because many attendees are campus and district leaders, proposals should offer clear value for professionals responsible for guiding programs, supporting staff, and strengthening services for gifted learners.
Submit your proposal by October 1, 2026.
In particular, the committee this year is seeking proposals for workshops and breakout sessions related to the following topics:
To present at TAGT’s Leadership Conference, you must (1) be employed by a K–12, university, or not-for-profit organization, or (2) represent a conference sponsor.
Each prospective presenter may submit up to two proposals for review, so choose the ideas that best represent what you would like to share.
Help shape the TAGT Leadership Conference as a member of the Conference Steering Committee. You’ll bring your perspective as a G/T leader to the conference planning process by reviewing session proposals, sharing feedback, and serving as a sounding board for potential updates to conference programming.
Complete the interest form, and then plan to join fellow committee members 12:00 p.m.–1:00 p.m., October 9, for a virtual kickoff and overview of committee service.
The total time commitment is approximately 3 hours and includes two virtual meetings plus proposal review between October 12–16.
Conference Steering Committee members must be TAGT Leader members.
